JBLM Job Fair Showcases State Employment Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n

JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. – Staff Sergeant Danika Nolan’s military exit date is a few weeks away, inquiry<\/a> and she’s getting ready for the transition at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.<\/p>\n

A quarterly event, the job fair<\/a> is “a low-stress, low-pressure chance to learn what kind of opportunities exist here outside your back door,” said Christopher Gentz, shift services supervisor celest-interim.fr<\/a> for horizonsmaroc.com<\/a> the Directorate of Human Resources.<\/p>\n

Additional job<\/a> fairs like the Jan. 30 occasion<\/a> will be held May 8, July 10 and Sept. 11.<\/p>\n

To get ready for them, “dress for success,” bring your resume and practice your pitch, Gentz said.<\/p>\n

An elevator pitch is a “quick introduction of yourself, who you are and what you’re aiming to do,” Handoe stated, discussing that the ability is taught as part of the TAP.<\/p>\n

Among the job fair’s goals was to assist individuals learn more about profession opportunities and how their abilities line up with them, Gentz stated.<\/p>\n

“Everybody’s going to get out of the Army at some point,” he said, “but while you’re in, are you doing everything you can to prepare to get out?”<\/p>\n

Job fairs also exist to help people with networking, studentvolunteers.us<\/a> seeing what people in the outdoors world are searching for – including certifications, accreditations and education – and discovering their hiring practices, Handoe said.<\/p>\n

“You need to be doing prep work now for what it is you wish to do later down the roadway,” he stated.<\/p>\n

That preparation work includes preparing for task fairs.<\/p>\n

“You need to enter into an employing reasonable with a strategy of what you’re going to do and not simply meander around,” Handoe said.<\/p>\n

He explained that guests must identify the business they want to consult with and research them ahead of time, to permit informed conversations with recruiters.<\/p>\n
